Based in Cotonou, Benin, Teddy Attila has been working since 2011 as a film director, screenwriter and producer. Most recentl, he worked for the United States’ Millennium Challenge Corporation compact in Benin (2017-2023). Teddy was instrumental leading all aspects of video production, photography, and storytelling for the $391 million compact that in 2023 completed the reform and modernization of the West African country's power sector. Teddy frequently traveled the country, interacting with diverse stakeholders to document project results. Teddy is proficient as a director, cameraman, photographer, drone operator, scriptwriter, and video editor. He is fluent in English, French, Fon, and Mina. Teddy is recognized for his big smile and ability to connect with people of all backgrounds: interviewing a Government Minister one day and filming village children the next. In addition to his international development experience, Teddy wrote, produced and directed award-winning independent films: Freedom (2011), The Cupboard (2012), From 7 to 8 (2013), La Route des Pêches (2014), Kindred Souls (2015), and Me I Know All (2019) in collaboration with Canal+. Teddy’s goal is to grow as a storyteller, expand his network of collaborators, and to work throughout West Africa, Africa, and beyond to change lives for the better.

Steve co-founded West Africa Video with Teddy Attila in 2023. Steve founded Dorst MediaWorks, a top-ranked social-media marketing agency and video production studio based in Washington, D.C. In this capacity, he has traveled to 40+ countries to produce 500+ short films for 100+ clients. Steve is also co-founder and VP of Production for Perpetuo Films, a nonprofit nonfiction-film studio that produces original documentary films and branded content, and provides impact consulting. He has directed the documentaries Dani’s Twins (2022), Jobs for GI’s (2015), Shattered Sky (2012), and Volcanic Sprint (2007). He is a capable director, cameraman, writer, and producer. Steve holds an MA in Economics and African Studies from Johns Hopkins SAIS, and lived in Cameroon as a young man.
